For many of us, nutrition is the thing that holds us back from achieving our goals. Eating healthy can be a challenge. But, the reality is that healthy eating habits are too important to avoid and there is no way to out-exercise a bad diet. That is why we offer nutrition guidance as an add-on option to all of our personal training programs. If you choose to include nutrition guidance, your program will teach you what, when, and how much to eat. It will help you develop a calm and focused approach to food. And it will develop habits that will make healthy choices easy and consistent.
Your nutrition plan needs to be focused, but flexible. Comprehensive, but practical. To strike this balance your plan will focus on just two key features: a regularly updated breakdown of your caloric and macronutrient needs and a regular analysis of your food log.
CALORIC & MACRO NUTRIENT GUIDELINES: Your nutrition plan will start with a detailed breakdown of your caloric and macronutrient (protein, carbohydrate, and dietary fat) needs. These numbers may not be flashy, but they will give us the data we need to ensure your plan is on point from the start. As you progress and your needs evolve, we will continuously update your plan to keep you on track.
FOOD LOG ANALYSIS: What we have learned from our years of experience is that the most effective way to help you make lasting changes to how you eat is to have you keep a food log. Tracking your meals will breed awareness, give us vital insight, and is the perfect icebreaker for hard conversations about food. But it’s key to keep this simple, so we’ll do just that. No logging in an app. No extensive calorie tracking. Simply track what you eat “meal-by-meal” on your Interactive Nutrition Spreadsheet. Then, twice a week you’ll get a video reviewing your choices and portions with specific guidance on how to improve going forward.
